Quality Control Procedures
Fundamental to the quality control process are the experience
and capabilities of the Project Engineer assigned to the project. This individual will be a senior staff member with strong technical
and management skills and possess in-depth knowledge of all issues
related to the planning, design, and management of the project as
related to the discipline(s) of responsibility. The Project Engineer designs and manages the project utilizing techniques and methods
which have been developed during the company's history.
The Project Engineer is responsible for coordination of all tasks to support the scope of services provided by BGA. Support to each Project Engineer is provided by the Manager of Engineering and personally by H. Buford Goff, Jr. as required to ensure that technical production and administrative services are available to satisfy all requirements of the project.
Coordination of tasks within the BGA organization is performed on a daily basis. Project reviews are conducted with the Manager of Engineering on a weekly basis unless issues dictate a more frequent review.
Coordination with architects and other project team members is supported by written documents which describe the coordination issues and identify responsibilities associated with each issue. A review of documents developed by other team members is performed by BGA to verify proper communication of coordination issues.
A significant element of the quality control process is related to the detail and thoroughness of the contract documents. Documents are developed which clearly define technical integrity and stringent implementation requirements.
Quality control as related to the production of the contract documents is effected by the use of skilled production personnel, compliance with document production standards, and a detailed review of the documents by the Project Engineer.
During the construction phase, the Project Engineer responsible for design continues project responsibility to ensure continuity. A detailed review of shop drawings and timely responses to RFI's enhances the quality control process.
Quality control of the installed systems is supported by field visits to the site and the implementation of an extensive acceptance test program.
